Schneider Truck Driving School: Provides you with free CDL training courses through the CDL Apprenticeship Program.

Schneider does business with more than 50% of the Fortune 500 companies, with more than 10,000 drivers delivering nearly 20,000 shipments every day throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

However, while they once operated multiple company-sponsored CDL schools across the country, they are now working with private affiliated schools to fill open seats on trucks.

Schneider National offers two truck driving school programs that provide free CDL training courses to those in need.

Each training option offers paid training or low-cost (reimbursed) CDL training:

1. CDL Apprenticeship Program

Duration: The program lasts approximately 5 weeks and includes 2 weeks of classroom learning and 3 weeks of hands-on training.

Locations: Training locations include Indiana, North Carolina, and Texas.

Employment Contract: Upon completion of training, the apprenticeship requires a 9-month employment contract with Schneider. If you leave your job early, you may have to pay a fee of $2,000.

Benefits of getting your CDL through Schneider's apprenticeship program:

•No training fees

•The company pays for transportation, lodging, and some meals

•Students receive $80 per day

•Graduates will gain additional road experience with a driving instructor after graduation

•A job will be waiting for you when you successfully complete your training

2. Paid CDL Training

For: This option is for trainees who have already completed their CDL training elsewhere.

Reimbursement: Schneider will reimburse up to $7,000 in tuition fees on a monthly basis while the trainee is working.

Requirements: New drivers must be employed by the company to qualify for reimbursement.

Apply for and obtain a CDL Learner's Permit (CLP): You will need to apply for a CLP before attending training.
